Just a post-fringe follow-up: I saw the show 3 times, because after seeing it the first time, I had to take 2 friends to see it also. I enjoyed it as much all three times, and the songs have stayed with me. I find myself continuing to hum the tunes. Thank you for bringing this show to the fringe and introducing me to the incredible talent of Fran Landesman and the amazing collaboration between her and Simon Wallace. I have just purchased some of the recordings available on Amazon so that I can continue to listen to these amazing songs.

I was wondering if the cast of Queen of the Bohemian Dream would be willing to do a "private party" performance early in September for my husband's birthday.

Any possibility?

Thank you,
Judy Kahn

My friend Lorraine suggested I catch the tribute to Ms. Fran. I can not thank her enough. Delighful music, beautifully performed, Fran sure ought to be “Seeing Me” and be proud of what she saw. Walking away from the theater, groups of people were talking of finding the music for their collections. The Washington Post called the show a “gem”. The Post was on the mark.
Love this show. Saw it on the 21st, and enjoyed it so much, I came back again on the 24th. This Queen definitely deserves to hold more court - hopefully a lengthier session. My only complaint was that it was too short! Tracy, Margo and Bobby all have incredible voices - supple, nuanced, gorgeous harmonies. Great material; extremely well-written songs and arrangements, played brilliantly by Darius Smith. Fave moments? - Bobby's soft shoe scuffling Feets; Tracy's M.O.T.H.E.R. - with her mom sitting right up front in the second row no less!; and innocent-faced-sweet-voiced Margo rowing away on high tide. A crowning achievement!

I saw the show yesterday and the experience was wonderful.
All of the performers did top notch jobs. I loved Bobby's nuance and great singing, Michael's staging brought snap to the senses, Margo is a gem and Tracy is a class act. Darius piano playing augmented the night with his spirited piano playing. And, what great material!!! A night full of craft and emotion.

This was received by Joan Goldberg - originally posted to our 'Blogging It All' section.

Attended Queen of the Bohemian Dream last night and loved it. The lyrics are sharp, smart, and funny; the music sultry and sexy. The singing, accompaniment, and stage business were extremely well done. Bravos to all the singers. We didn’t want the evening to end. My husband heard the interview with the director on the radio (WPFW) and convinced me we had to attend. Thank you to the producer and everyone else involved for a wonderful evening. After searching this website and links, I’ll be buying some CDs to hear many of the songs again. How wonderful that Fran Landesman is still writing such terrific lyrics. I look forward to hearing more.
